Dream Cars Exhibit at The High Museum, Atlanta, GA

I was lucky enough to go and visit High Museum of Art today in Atlanta and see the 'Dream Cars' exhibit. There were some really great concept cars from the 30s, 40s, 50s and even more recent cars from Porsche and BMW.

Many of the cars from the 1930s had a very jazz age feel to them while the 40s and 50s styles were most closely associated with the cars we see in movies (or some might remember).

My favorite (below) was the 'lost' 1935 Bugatti Type 57S Competition Coupe Aerolithe (2007 re-creation). The body of the car was originally fabricated using Elektron magnesium alloy - a tough material to weld and it had rivets on the curves of the car to prove it (which just added a touch of design and beauty to it).

The show also featured an all electric car (below) that was built - and used - in the 1940s in France during and post WWII.

The show is on in Atlanta through September 14, 2014 so if you happen to be in town you should stop by and check out all the great cars!
